Griffith’s Doctor of Medicine program emphasizes developing strong communication skills and a deep understanding of the science of medicine. The curriculum includes small group settings, such as problem-based learning tutorials and clinical skills laboratories, along with clinical placements starting from early in the degree.

When it comes to Griffith's Med Interview, known as the Multi-Station Admission Assessment (GUMSAA), the qualities they look for in their candidates include good communication skills, an empathetic and ethical approach, a reflective manner, problem-solving skills, as well as teamwork and decision-making skills.

The GUMSAA interview involves a series of scenarios designed to assess key attributes such as an empathetic and ethical approach, problem-solving skills, and more. Each candidate’s interview typically lasts 35 minutes. For each scenario, there are two minutes allocated for reading time followed by five minutes to answer questions related to the scenario.

Griffith University offers 198 domestic places, of which approximately 80 are set aside for graduates of the Griffith Bachelor of Medical Science and the University of the Sunshine Coast Bachelor of Medical Science.
