100 New Commonwealth Supported Places for Medicine in 2026: What It Means for Your Application
The Albanese Government has announced funding for 100 additional Commonwealth Supported Places (CSPs) a year for medical students, spread across ten Australian universities, with a further expansion planned from 2028. Under the first stream of this funding ("Stream A"), an extra 100 CSP medical places per year have been allocated, 10 additional places at each of the following ten universities:

- University of Notre Dame Australia
- University of Sydney
- University of Wollongong
These places commenced from the 2026 intake. Why Is the Government Doing This?
The stated goal is squarely about growing Australia's GP workforce.
